Hazards

Cooking oil, once heated, changes in molecular structure. Oil that has been reheated and reused has been determined to be unsafe for human and animal consumption with carcinogenic properties.

It is therefore unethical to sell or supply used cooking oil to employees. Other unethical practices include using UCO to add to animal/livestock feed. BEE has the support and endorsement of the Cancer Association of Namibia in our efforts to prevent UCO to be distributed to people or animals and rather be used to create biofuel.

BEE offers safe disposal of UCO, is approved by the Municipality of Windhoek and Swakopmund and includes a valid certificate of disposal for the supplier which they can submit to the Health Inspector.
